The Press Box Wifi Password is ‘redwings1926’

During last night’s game seven between Detroit and Anaheim, I was amused to see this sign posted on the wall behind a bored team official:

Red Wings Press Box Wifi Password

Obviously it’s no great security risk, but I just thought it was funny that they accidentally broadcast the password to several million TV viewers.

The Victoria Cougars won the cup in 1925, and lost in the finals in 1926. But I did not know that the Cougars were bought and moved after the WCHL folded and were moved to… Detroit. They became the Red Wings in 1932.

Normally I hate Detroit but this changes my mind a little bit.
