I’m Digging My Matt & Nat Vegan Man Bag

When Julie was in Calgary, she bought me a new messenger bag from some hipster boutique. It’s called the Dirty Harry, from a Canadian company called Matt & Nat. Their site is built in crazy frames, so here’s a peculiar page from their online shop, and a bigger image of the bag itself. Oddly, they don’t show the nice olive-green woven shoulder strap that goes with the Dirty Harry.

Here’s the interesting thing about Mat & Nat–their products are all vegan. I found that hard to believe when I first saw the bag–it totally looks like leather (see for yourself). I’m neither here nor there on leather clothes and accesories–I have so few. Still, it’s neat that there’s a stylish choice for the leather-eschewing vegan.

The bag doesn’t have any built-in support, so it’s kind of floppy with only a laptop in it. I’ve got a little laptop sleeve, so I may use that to add some structure.

  1. User: If you don’t like the ads, there are four options:

    1. Read the stories on the front page where there are few or no ads, depending on the month.

    2. Read the stories in RSS, where there are no ads.

    3. Get yourself some ad-blocking software or an extension to your browser. I use AdBlock Plus with Firefox, and it works like a charm.

    4. Don’t read this site. You’ll find plenty of other options on my Links page.

  2. I actually have one of their bags called the “jobs” which is the same as the dirty harry but with a laptop sleeve…its perfect for work and things don’t flop around..you should check it out!

  3. It’s a shame someone can’t make something similar using natural, sustainable (vegan) organically grown materials.

It is a nice looking bag though. For office workers or anywhere else such a bag is appreciated.
