Yesterday, Argentina beat Mexico in extra time. Maxi Rodriguez scored a magical goal that, as far as I’m concerned, is the best of the World Cup thus far. It’s also an entertaining call by the BBC commentator:

  2. great individual goal, the Argies have the best team goal as well (that 24 pass move against the Serbs was poetry).

    That game was class, showed casual fans that shots on target aren’t needed for a cracker of a match.

  3. Yay Argentina! They’ll have to play a lot better than that against the Germans on Friday, though…

  4. Beckham’s goal on Saturday against Ecuador was quite nice as well. Plus that one had the added benefit of him puking on international TV afterwards (though nobody in Canada saw it, maybe so that we all kept our breakfasts down).

  5. Yeah, I was going to mention the second goal against the Serbs too. It was a lopsided game, but a beautiful piece of work nonetheless.

  6. I know Youtube is the be all and end all of video hosting, but after watching this game in HD and then seeing that highlight, in all its 1998 pixelated glory, kind of takes the shin off of the goal.

    Nice goal though.
