The city of Dublin is going to build a large outdoor skating rink in a plaza called Smithfield just outside the center of town. This is exceptional because there are currently no ice rinks in Ireland–the last one having closed down a couple of years ago (besides, it was in one of the dodgiest parts of town). Julie and I are probably two of the only people in the country who own their own skates.
While searching for information about this project, I discovered the Irish Ice Hockey Association. I hope we all get the irony of this–we’re talking about a country with no ice rinks. They’ve got a pretty impressive site, though, and they even sell jerseys:
I’m barely able to resist buying one. I mean, is this not one of the more unique jerseys on the planet?
So did u buy your jersey??
