Caterina points to this great photo set comprised of images built on an Amiga using only 256 colours. These flags bring back fond memories of Summer Games, while this MTV logo may be my favourite.

  1. I’m surprised the artwork is “only” 256 colours actually, since during the early years much of the art on the Amiga was created in 32 and limited 64 colour palettes. Andy Warhol created a portrait of Debbie Harry on an Amiga 1000 during a Commodore launch party and I’m doubting it had more than 32 colours.

    Frankly, all the glowing praise about Apple’s early GUI and artist-worthy computing sometimes makes me choke a bit. Much of the Amiga’s history was so parallel and the hardware and OS were certainly far more advanced all throughout the 80’s.
