It’s a cute idea, and U2 does belong among these musicians, but this is a tad cocky, isn’t it? I guess rock and roll and modesty don’t share the same bed very often.

I don’t think they’re suggesting a comparison between themselves and the musicians featured, but rather celebrating the lives and achievements of these people, and what good things they brought not only to the lives of U2’s members, but to everyone who listened and watched at the time.
Thank you for posting the video here where I can watch it in piece! Some of the comments on the YouTube page are just… so stupid. Uh, make that most of them. Nice spelling of “Bettles” from the guy who never learned that run-on sentences and poor punctuation makes things hard to read. They should really have 500 people moderating comments, or some kind of intelligence-checking security code box where you have to type in, say, what “A theory or system that recognizes more than one ultimate principle” means (pluralism).
OOPS. I meant, in *peace* … speaking of bad English, although I guess “piece” works too. HA
Sorry Darren but I have to agree with Erika on this one – I see the video as more of a tribute to those other musicians rather than some kind of ego trip on U2’s part.
I think it’s a cool piece of video footage montage.
