Today I was trying to explain to somebody just how big a .50 calibre bullet cartridge was. I went a googlin’, and turned up this sad but funny photograph:
Truth be told, that still doesn’t really show how big the bullets cartridges are. Further searching brought me to this truly bizarre toilet paper holder, which accidentally does an excellent job of illustrating the scale of these rounds.

Well, that’s actually a .50 calibre cartridge, not bullet. The bullet is just the end bit.

I looked at the toilet paper holder… I wonder how they ship it through the post? They couldn’t possibly ship it over borders, could they?
