We recorded the performance of Bolloxed at the Kay Meek Centre last week. We had tried to record it once before but the camera ran out of battery power. The results we did capture were, because of the theatrical lighting, incredibly high contrast.
We modified the camera settings for the Kay Meek Centre, but adjusted too far the other way. The whole thing is too dark. I tried some adjustments in iMovie, but am getting foiled by Apple’s insistence on simplicity (I can’t set a brightness value, I have to mess about with the slider).
Are there any video heads out there who have alternative suggestions for brightening up this badboy? Here’s a sample so you know what I’m talking about:
We have a better sound feed that I’m going to sync up once we resolve the brightness issue.
When you brighten up the images, the noise is going to be enhanced also… It will require some video post processing software and one or two cofees. 😉
Hey Darren! I’m a video editor as part of my skill set… I’m happy to help if you haven’t gotten anyone else to do it. I use Adobe Premiere. Do you have the original raw file?
ps: I’ll have a lot of time on my hands as of a few hours from now, as I’ll be officially taking an EI break at the end of the day. Good times!
pps: As a funny aside, I’m actually editing a clip of Tod as I type this for one of my clients. 🙂
