I’ve never been a purchaser of those Entertainment books, but I know lots of people who advocate them. Knowing my affection for the movies, a friend gave me this coupon for some discount movie tickets.

That was very kind, and I will probably use it. Basically, you send in the coupon and a cheque and get a bunch of movie tickets (up to 12) for $7 instead of the usual–I think–$11.
I’m writing this entry because I was amused by the bold yet highly contradicted statement ‘valid anytime’ printed on the front of the coupon. If you look a little closer, you’ll see the following:
- “Some restrictions may apply”
- “Valid now thru November 1, 2006”
- “Not valid holidays”
- “Subject to rules of use”
- “Not valid with other discount offers unless specified”
Hmm…that sounds like less often than “anytime”.
Plus, of course, there’s the unpublished restrictions usually applied to these sorts of deals, where-in you can only go see Earnest Goes to Mogadishu and Freddy vs. Jason: The Tiddlywinks Caper in their 10th week of release.
Nonetheless, I’m going to risk it. I’m a glutton for punishment.
Actually, they seem to have lightened up on the pass restrictions of late. I was surprised to be able to use those cereal box free movie tickets for films in their first couple of weeks of release.
