Yesterday I was searching Flickr for photos of Nerds candy boxes (more on that later, possibly). While browsing through photos, I encountered this photo set, which documents the creation of a number of impressive gingerbread complexes.
For my money, the most impressive is this ginger lighthouse. The walls of the lighthouse are stuccoed with frosting and Nerds candies.
On a related note, this guy appears to have quite a few Pez dispensers. A collection apparently rivaled by this guy and this guy.
That brings back memories. My granny used to make me a gingerbread house every year for valentine’s day. She would put gumdrops and candies on the inside of the house and everyday before valentine’s day I would reach through a window with a fork to get a treat. Then on V day I would attempt to devour the gingerbread house…… which was a bit much for a small kid as I was at the time.
Oh yeah, the nerds. I recall on a previous post that you were looking for nerds & sea monkeys. Did you find the monkeys at all? I did see them at the store “The Toy Box” on Broadway the other day if you’re still lookin’.
Patty: We got lots of tips, though I haven’t actually gone looking for them yet.
