Sedin to Sedin to Sedin to Sedin

It’s been at last 11 days since I posted a hockey video clip. As the NHL heads into the Olympic break, here’s last night’s overtime winner featuring some lovely Wonder Twin passing and a laser of a shot to the top corner (where Dad keeps the Playboys):

Now, both those twins need to go into a scoring slump while they’re playing for Sweden at the Olympics.

As a bonus link, it’s rare that I see any GAA (Irish Gaelic games) footage on the Web. Apparently there was a brouhaha during a recent match.

  1. Beautiful goal. I think by the end of the season an opportunity will exist for a compilation of Sedin goals entitled, A Beautiful Pass.

This also reminds me of a game we sometimes play watching the Sedins – trying to figure out what they would be saying to each other to orchestrate the magic. Of course they’d be speaking Swedish (but we must flail about with Swedish-accented English), and they must have code names for the set pieces.

    ‘Daniel, lollipop!’

    ‘Henrik, washing machine!’

  2. That was a beauty goal to be sure – Henrik came out of the penalty box on a mission.

On the play before, he charged up the ice like a viking but couldn’t handle Daniel’s pass. As they were re-grouping he likely said, “Daniel, you are the shooter and i am the passer – Wonder twins powers activate!”
