Nobody’s ever asked for this functionality, but you can now subscribe to this site via email. Apparently you’ll get a daily email (assuming I update that day) with the new content from this site. I’ve implemented this because FeedBurner and FeedBlitz have made it painless for me. If, in six months, there’s nobody using it, I’ll probably turn it off.
I know it’s very Web 1.0, but so is 95% of the planet. One needs to cater to both the early and late adopters. I’ve stuck a subscribe box above the Google ads in the left-hand sidebar. You can also subscribe below:

Great! But if we dislike something you say, how easy is it to unsubscribe?
Dude, I remember you blogged a long time ago, asking if anyone wanted the functionality. I believe everyone who responded said no thanks. But, you know, those are just the minority who comment; I’m sure everyone else *totally* wants to get an email per day saying that you’ve (shock) written 6 entries.
Gill: True, I did say that, back in December 2004. The site’s readership has grown quite a bit since then, so I thought I’d ask again. Like I said, if nobody signs up, then no worries.
Anonymous: Pretty easy. You just go to FeedBlitz.com, login and remove this site from your subscriptions. I’m not even sure if I have access to the email addresses of people who have subscribed.
Wild – the form submit showed up in safari as part of the rss feed.
works great, thanks for the tip Darren
