This weekend we took a quick overnight trip to Manning Park Resort to attend a wedding. A big congratulations to Trina and Ben, and thanks very much for inviting us. Their ceremony was at Lightning Lake, a small body of water near the lodge. I took some photos there, and have posted the best wedding photos here.
Today we went on a hike up a nearby mountain, to a place called Dry Ridge. In this part of the province, you can really see the devastation that the pine beetle is wreaking on the forests. I took some photos there as well. I’m particularly happy with these macro shots of a butterfly and a cricket. I’ve also stuck a few photos into that set from some long exposure experiments I did the night before. All of them were futile.
I drove out to Kelowna the other week and it took me a few minutes of driving tnrough the countryside to realize that coniferous trees are not supposed to be that colour. Quite sad.
