My multi-talented friend Kennedy (director of the aforementioned 48-hour film project) has a creative approach to raising funds for his new film:
At 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 16th, The Beast of Bottomless Lake became the first film to sell a place in film history through eBay. Executive producer credits, product placement and even cameos are being auctioned off in the on-line community of eBay.
Is this the first of its kind? I’m not sure, but I do think it’s got a shot of raising a little cash. The money will go to the production of the mockumentary The Beast of Bottomless Lake, which “follows a group of academics seeking to unveil Okanagan’s legendary lake serpent, the Ogopogo”.
UPDATE: Kennedy tells me they spoke with eBay regarding this project, and they confirmed that they were the first film to take this approach.
