I couldn’t dream of topping the title to Todd’s post, so I instead cited how much Vancouver’s Pride weekend is worth to the city. He makes a number of recommendations that could improve the parade:
Pride is here, it’s queer and everyone has a great time. There are no protesters, no throngs of religious nutjobs yelling that we’re taking society to hell in a stylish handbag by getting married. These are good things. But I think it’s time for Pride to grow up a bit and to take its place among the other great evening celebrations that Vancouver offers.
He also took a big bunch o’ photos. This one reminded me of that episode of the Simpsons where Homer wants Bart to be all manly, and takes him to a steelwork factory. Once the whistle blows, though, the place turns into a big disco.
Very nice and funny post !
Huh. A parade at night? Seems a bit odd, if you ask me.
Although my sunburn would probably appreciate it. Ouch.
Wow – comments about my blog on another blog. Oh well.
Parades at night are nothing new if you’ve had the chance to enjoy Mardis Gras or the local Parade of Lost Souls. The evening really is a very different experience for a parade, adult themed or otherwise.
