Lighthouse Park

Today we went hiking at Lighthouse Park, in my old stomping grounds of West Vancouver. It’s a popular and well-used park, and was an easy first hike of the summer. The park even has its own preservation society, and they’ve got a newsletter (PDF, don’t miss the upcoming ivy pull).

I took some unremarkable photos, my favourite a rotting outdoor cinema in a meadow. I’m curious about the story behind it, but I expect it was used some time in the last fifty years to show nature films. We also saw a merganzer with some cute babies, trying to catch a ride on their Mom’s back.

  1. I grew up in West Van and although my memory’s not that good anymore (I’m 42) I’m almost sure I saw a couple of nature films at that meadow cinema when I was a small child.
