Man, you can’t fault her timing. She made a remarkable splash during the Conservative Party leadership race (I wrote about her here), and now she makes a high-profile move in the midst of the current Parliament debacle. Either she’s got fantastic instincts, or there’s an effective PR machine behind her.
As far as I’m concerned, we need an election. The Liberals need to answer for their recent bogosity, and the current House of Commons is getting nothing done.
I can’t offer a thorough analysis of Stronach’s performance as an MP or the political ramifications of her move, but others can. Here’s some reaction:
- Stephen Taylor: Blond Betrayal
- BlogsCanada E-Group: Good Riddance! (check that comment thread–105 and growing)
- Jay Currie: Oh Shit!
- Colby Cosh: Femme Fatale
And all solidly on the right hand side of the political spectrum…
If you want to find some analysis from the left, I’d gladly post it. It just happens that the analysis I found this morning was from the right (though I expect the BlogsCanada posts are all over the map).
Cheers for the link Darren.
Weird…
Thanks for the link…
And so the shotgun marriage of Alliance and Tories begins to unravel…
