There’s a Car in My 7-11

Look what I found on Flickr last night. Someone appears to have driven into the 7-11 I frequent at the corner of Homer and Helmcken Smythe and Beatty (they all look the same). This guy named Rod Graves took the photos, clearly from an apartment or office across the street. Four ambulances attended the scene, and several taquitos were badly injured. The Slurpee machine, thankfully, looks undamaged.

This is quite an achievement, automotively speaking. The door where the car entered faces a street that runs perpendicular to the cars orientation. Also, the approach on the parallel street is up a steep hill. I guess they tried to turn and missed the street entirely.

This reminded me of an SUV crash I photographed from my own apartment in Yaletown.

  1. The Sun has an article about this. An elderly woman hit the curb with her car and smashed into the store, running down the 7-11 employee and two customers. The 7-11 employee sustained head trauma and is in ICU.
