To silence a cinema talker, what recourse do you have? Glarkware’s got you covered with the Movie Manners “Shut Up” cards. Handing one to a talker means that you don’t have to make a “shush” noise even louder than the talking. The vague wording of the text gives the (false) impression that the cards have been distributed by the theatre chain, lending the card-giving an authority that your “shush” lacks.
That’s simply awesome. They’ve got a nice aesthetic, as well, and do look kind of official. I’m tempted to buy a pack of 20 and try them out.

Darren, I believe you made a couple of spelling mistakes in your entry. I think you meant Courtesy and aesthetic.
Here in small town Japan people are pretty quiet in the theatre, but they don’t laugh. The first time my husband and I went to a movie together here he told me to be quiet as I was laughing too loudly. It was just that I was the only one laughing.
Personally I like the Glarkware “Urban *expletive*(is swearing ok on your site, Darren?) Notification Cards” – with explanations ranging from double parking to littering to bad cellphone etiquette. It seems slightly more or less juvenile than my usual array of emphatic rude hand gestures to the jerks who drive on the shoulder to merge in front of me at stoplights.
