Gizmodo reports about the newest trend to hit store windows: robotic mannequins that watch shoppers and periodically change position:
Faceless, camera-eyed, paraplegic mannequins are coming soon to Japanese department stores, as Flower Robotics shows off its prototype models that not only turn to pose for individual shoppers, but take pictures of shoppers and forward the images to store security.
That’s kind of creepy. How long will it be before the mannequins climb down and pursue shoplifters around the store? If you’re wondering about the Kim Cattrall reference, you were probably too young in 1987.
I loved that movie. And it took watching Sex and the City a few seasons to realize it was the same person… 🙂
And don’t forget her ground- (or is that sound-) breaking performance as “Lassie” in PORKY’S.
Hah – Lassie is Kim Cattrall? I didn’t know that. I’ve seen Porky’s a dozen times too.
The famous movie I knew she was in is “Police Academy”.
I loved that movie too. I was pretty young in 1987, but I caught Mannequin on video.
Maybe I’m too old, but I remember that movie coming and going and having no interest in it, ever.
I graduated from HS in ’87 and I remember that movie coming and going and having no interest in it.
Do recall Ms. Cattrell in Porky’s though and her love for the smell of male sweat.
