I’m slowly learning how to take good digital photographs. I’m certainly not there yet, but I figure practice makes perfect, which explains the dull subject matter I’ve recently posted on Flickr (my nephew notwithstanding, I suppose).
Via Kris Krug’s swish new site, I found this O’Reilly article on taking (and modifying) digital photos.
The truth is that you can make great photos with a simple consumer point-and-shoot camera, or take lousy shots with the most expensive Nikon. It’s not the camera that makes beautiful images; it’s the photographer. With a little knowledge and a willingness to make an adjustment here and there, you can squeeze big time photos out of the smallest digicam.
I’m immediately encouraged when I see an article is from the O’Reilly site. I’m confident that it will be fluff-free, meaty and educational.
As a bonus, I’m sure many of you have already heard this punk paean to Flickr (MP3, via Travis). When your customers are writing songs about your beta software, you must be doing something right.
Digital photography is actually very easy Darren. It’s not hard to become very good at it.
Do you have a link to the actual ORA article? I’m not seeing it….
Another good article from my list of links that don’t sucks is Your Camera Does Not Matter:
