Here are three sets of photos that may be of interest. I’ve really been enjoying the new camera, and have generally been pleased with the results:
- On Friday night, we went to our friend Jana’s studio, for the launch party of Handmaiden, her wool-dyeing company. There are some generic party shots, as well as some very colourful photos of her wool hanging from drying racks. It’s like a magic wool forest in there.
- We’re seriously considering buying 3.6 acres of waterfront property on North Pender Island. Yesterday we went back for a second visit, and took a few more photos.
- Walking home from The Life Aquatic, I took a few photos of the city. I even snapped a photo during the film’s credits.
As a side note, Jana’s husband Cameron is (among other things) a silkscreen artist. For the launch party, he’s silkscreening something on shirts that people brought. I wanted some text, so I consulted this post about what lyrics you’d get tattooed on your arm. I went with “I’m the first mammal to make plans” for my t-shirt.
Being a total yarn fantatic, I’d love to see the website for this new yarn business. Can you send along the URL? 🙂
Fanatic. I can spell. Really.
wool? *perk*
ditto what devon said. 🙂
Hi Darren:
It was a honour being nominated with you in the best Non-Polical category in the 2004 Canadian Blog Awards. Blog on!
Devon and Donna: Once their site is up, I’ll post about it (they’re just up and running). They’re a wholesaler, but I know they sell to local shops.
Bene: Thanks. Same to you.
