Paul has traveled to Botswana on some kind of tech internship. He’s been writing about his sundry experiences there. I’ve always dreamed of doing a Geekcorps-type posting, so I’ve been reading his site with interest. Today he writes about the food:
Natalie, my American roommate, observed last week “You know, years from now, I’m never going to tell anyone ‘Back in Botswana, I ate the best X'”.
I was hard pressed to disagree with her. The supermarkets here are well-stocked, nearly what we’re used to back home, and when bought with care the food is wholesome and healthy. But, I swear to Vishnu, it’s dull.
I’m pretty sure I met Paul at one of the blogger meetups.
You did indeed. He was at the one in September, he showed up fashionable late, accompanied by Breebop.
In fact he did nothing else but talk about going to Botswana. Botswana, Botswana, Botswana…that’s all he talked about. I see from his blog that *that* hasn’t changed! 😉
Can you blame him? Botswana is such a fun word to say. Fun to type too.
And yes, he was the guy who came with me to the meetup. Fashionably late, bah — we headed over right after work! You guys just started too early!!
