Hello childhood, how’s things? Via BoingBoing, we find a database of 50,000 comic book covers. But how thorough is it, really? Being a Canadian, I first checked if they had that obscure Canadian comic, Alpha Flight. Yep, all 132 issues. How about that cult classic, Love and Rockets? Yep. They’ve even got comics from Marvel’s ill-conceived New Universe. Impressive.

Alpha Flight obscure? It was good. I’m sure I’ve got some copies here in New Zealand.
I still have the first 12 issues of Alpha Flight.
There are no Reid Fleming covers.

I’m a premium member there and it’s a Godsend to be able to track my nearly 7,000 large comic collection and it’s value.
And MileHighComics.com has a ton of cover scans, although they’re all imprinted with their watermark thingamajig.
Those early issues of ALPHA FLIGHT are good, when John Byrne was still an exciting creator. The series went downhill fast after that, culminating in the godawful outing of Northstar.
The current ALPHA FLIGHT series is much more comedic in tone.
