Mash-up + Video = Head Wrecking

Via Waxy.org (who has also a quality summary of the whole Grey Album meme), we find the Grey Video. It’s a remarkably-slick video mashup of a Beatles performance with footage from Jay-Z. The whole thing is kind of, to borrow a phrase from Douglas Adams, mind-buggering. In particular, the moment when Ringo transforms from a drummer into a DJ may become a post-modern touchstone of the 21st century video.

Even if you don’t like the Beatles or Jay-Z (and if not either of those, who do you like? Just kidding), the video is definitely worth watching. I know this sort of thing has been done before (see, for example, the video for Weezer’s Buddy Holly (ASX stream)), but this piece seems to be more artful commentary than clever gimmick.
