Nick Nolte’s Weblog

You know, I really endeavour not to read about celebrities, but Waxy.org pointed out Nick Nolte’s online diary and I had to check it out:

I’m not a fan of Bed and Breakfasts but my company is. For that reason, I’m using the front desk computer here. There is no phone line in our room upstairs for my laptop. No one seems to mind, but it is past one in the morning, so I didn’t wake anyone to ask. Constance and I are enjoying the wine country. You’re not going to belive this diary, but I just checked someone in to the hotel. It’s cold tonight so when I saw a young couple behind the window crystal of the door I let them in without thinking. I don’t think they recognized me.

I suppose this could be some pasty fellow in his basement in Ottumwa, Iowa, but it seems pretty genuine to me.

  1. I don’t know what’s worse, reading Nick Nolte’s thoughts or realizing he constantly actually addresses his journal as “diary.”

  2. Although the blog is well written, I think it’s a scam.
Why nicknoltediary.com? Why not include it in his official site?
Why don’t Nolte or his agent promote the site? There are no links in Google, aside from the actual site.
Why is the site registered to a Christian Newton, d.b.a. “NND Group”, presumably Nick Nolte Diary Group? When I Google for that guy, I find iFilm listings for a UC Berkely film student.
Christian Newton’s address is listed as 501 Privacy Lane, Santa Monica, 90402. No such street exists.
NN’s blog entry for September 11 has him picking up newspapers in his yard. But the National Post says he was in Toronto, promoting Hotel Rwanda and drinking at the film fest.

I suspect the site is a film student’s attempt to get some publicity. Can anyone else find a trail?

  3. Martha is a money machine, she’s not giving her thoughts for free. She’s preparing a jail journal. Her people are already looking for a publisher.

  4. I suspect the Martha poser is in a better position — it’s harder to sue the poser, given that it’s just “Martha” and not “Martha Stewart”, as opposed to “Nick Nolte”.
