Today’s Blogosphere Radio (if it were me, I would have called it ‘Radio Blogosphere’) broadcast referenced Dana’s blog, who mentions a business blogging conference run by the American Marketing Association (AMA). It’s a three-city thing, with the closest one being in Seattle featuring Robert Scoble and a bunch of suits. I note a few ironies here:
- Dana, if you’re going to call yourself a Blog Savant, you should probably fix your archived entries.
- The AMA hasn’t listed the event on their site (the Seattle event is apparently December 17). You’d think those marketing types would want to control the information better, so that when the press release hits, there’s somewhere to go. In truth, the press release may not have hit yet–I couldn’t find it. The AMA could use a weblog, actually, because I couldn’t really locate their latest news.
- The AMA, in an admirable demonstration of their Web-savviness, only kind of supports Mozilla on their Events page. If I use Mozilla and want to search by date, geography or level (whatever that means), I appear to be screwed.
I’m surprised that the schedule for this event doesn’t include a session on blog relations, as in pitching and marketing to weblogs. I’d be happy to come down to Seattle to talk about that, if you’ve got room for a curmudgeonly Canadian. And I’ve even got a suit.
sorry dude. Dayjob got in the way of fixing the archives. Priorities….
Thanks for the link though.
