Over at Grrl Meets World, Becky has posted a debate drinking game:
Drink One Sip If:
Anyone says “terrorism”
Anyone says “Halliburton”
Anyone says “flip flop”
Anyone says “Saddam Hussein”
Anyone blames “the media”
Anyone mentions their own military service
Anyone says “September 11”
One candidate interrupts another candidate
It goes on from there. I watched a bit of the debate–boy, was that a study in opposing styles. Not to be a snobby Canadian, but I’m down in the Gnomedex lounge area, and I’m a little dismayed how many apparent smart people aren’t watching the debates. I suppose they could all be Nader supporters, or disapprove of the debate process, but I’m still kind of surprised.
I think you’ve answered the reason for them not watching the debates yourself… they’re smart people 🙂
But lots of Canadians tuned in to OUR leadership debates, both in French and in English. Like, a large percentage of eligable voters. Weird, wot?
About the 4th or 5th time I heard Dubya say “the terrarists hate our Freedom”, I started screaming loud enough to wake up the neighbours.
I’m also very curious to know who these “moolahs” in Iran are…are they moneychangers? 😉
I think the answer there lies in that many of those people have already decided whom to vote for, thus dismissing the debate as pointless.
Politically, the U.S. seems very polarized right now.
I for one didn’t watch because the debate rules pretty much insured that we’d hear nothing new. If they were going to have a REAL debate, I might watch. This was just going to be an opportunity for both candidates to posture. There weren’t many folks watching because most of them realized there was no point. It’s primarily a staged event, with nothing left to chance.

my thoughts on the debate posted last night. on experiment301.com
I think a lot of people have already made up their minds. Which as far as i’m concerned is good. I know a lot of people in my area are sick of Bush and his lies. Kerry has Michigan in the bag. Not that it was really much of a surprise I guess.
Jon Stewart (on the Daily Show) made some insanely great comments (including the stuff about Poland). SNL looked rather good too lol.
