Tomorrow, with slight trepidation about the subheading “Geeks Gone Wild”, I’m going to Gnomedex. What follows will be two solid days of geeokisity of the highest order. I’m interested in most of the sessions, so much so that I may find little time to explore Lake Tahoe. I haven’t been there since I was a kid. In fact, aside from airports, I haven’t spent any real time in the US for years. I may skip the panel on security and Wil Wheaton’s speech. I mean, he seems like a nice guy, but he’s not quite the uber-brain influencer that many of the panelists are.
Regardless, my weblog over the next few days may be heavily Gnomedex-centric. Apologies in advance if this doesn’t float your boat.

I somehow stumbled across Wil Wheaton’s homepage a few weeks ago. He has his own blog and the site is so “My First Homepage” that he must have built it himself. Maybe he’s going to scoop you (Darren) as a blog speaker! 🙂
Wil is a great guy, and I very much enjoy reading his blog and his books are both excellent reading. Give “Just A Geek” a try and see if you don’t like it 🙂
Is Gnomedex releated to the Gnome Desktop Project? I couldn’t find anything on either website that mentions the other.
If it is connected, I would be more interested in seeing a GNUdex.
Don’t pay much attention to the title… it’s more of a “let’s have fun” kind of thing. We’re not that wild. In fact, I’m completely calm right now in the Starbucks area with three other very subdued geeks. 🙂
