Toyota’s already courting the green market with the Prius, a hybrid vehicle. However, they’re getting down to the brass tacks by offering a leather-free model for those cruisin’ vegans:
Pleasing vegans, the theory goes, is key to reaching a wider group of consumers — affluent shoppers who worry about the environment and who are willing to pay extra for food, clothing and even automobiles, if they are made in ways that do less harm to the planet. Toyota Motor Corp. is so attuned to the sensibilities of these so-called green consumers that the company doesn’t even offer leather seats for the popular Prius.
Now, if they can get one of those badboys to run on french fry grease, I’ll be a happy semi-vegetarian.
one small problem – french fry grease is usually animal fat 🙂
Not sure if the Prius ( hey , great name guys ) is avaliable in a diesel version. If it is, there are quite a few conversion kits around which will get you running on just about any vegetable oil.
