ChangeThis

Tom Murphy points to ChangeThis, a new site full of manifestos:

ChangeThis [is] a new website that aims to publish thought provoking opinion pieces (or manifestos) on a whole host of subjects. They’ve done a fantastic job reaching out to the blog community and have garnered a lot of blog inches and links already. Catherine Hickey, one of the people behind ChangeThis describes the site as follows: “our mission is to find compelling arguments and pieces that make a point.”

It looks like a site full of ideas and advice (such as the useful and artfully designed How to be a Boor, unfortunately presented in a PDF). However, this will probably the last time I look at the site for a while, because there’s no RSS feed. Hey ChangeThis people, get on that, would you?

UPDATE: I just received a note from Noah Weiss from ChangeThis, who writes “I just wanted to tell you that were working on creating an RSS feed right now. Hopefully we’ll have it launched in the next few days.” Strong work.

  1. Unfortunately is right. I still don’t get why people insist on using PDF when the “existing tools” like HTML and graphics are easier to read, copy for quoting purposes, and don’t require waiting for a program/plugin to load. The most common answer to that is for printing, but with a site like ChangeThis, it is too artfully designed to work well on most printers.

So what gives? Why do in PDF what you could just as easily do using HTML?
