Ever since my family’s first VCR (or maybe it was the second?), I’ve always stacked my VCR and, eventually, my DVD player, on top of my television. With my last couple of TVs, I’ve noticed that the flat portion of the top is getting narrower and narrower. Currently my ancient VCR and DVD player teater ominously on about 5.5 inches of flatness. A minor earhquake would probably shake them off (hopefully backward, where they don’t have far to fall). Don’t talk to me about your fancy media centres–I haven’t got the square footage or tolerant neighbours.
Clearly, with the growing popularity of LCD and plasma TVs, this distance is only getting smaller. In the meantime, though, I figure this device (URL unb0rked) might save a few video-related accidents.
Hey Darren: the link seems to be messed up again.
Thanks, that’s fixed. Must check links more often.
Live improvement? Don’tcha mean LIFE improvement? (payback for the “parsed” comment the other day) 😉
D’oh! I’ll get you yet, Grammar Avenger!
