Magic Bike

Via Near Near Future, we learn about the Magic Bike, a bicycle cum mobile WiFi hotspot targeted at events and fairs. The description borders on the high-fallutin’, but you get the idea:

Wireless bicycles disappear into the urban fabric and bring Internet to yet unserved spaces and communities. Mixing public art with techno-activism, Magicbikes are perfect for setting up adhoc Internet connectivity for art and culture events, emergency access, public demonstrations, and communities on the struggling end of the digital-divide.

This is the natural next step for those mobile phone cyclists in rural China. Instead of riding around from village to village and renting phone time, they could just bring a laptop on their Magic Bike and enable people to answer email.
